Method for judging the quality of PU foam product

PU foam is a chemical filling material with polyurethane as the main raw material. It is usually stored in a pressure tank in liquid form. After being sprayed out, it reacts with air and expands and solidifies to form a porous foam structure. 

There are two types of pu foam adhesive: Straw type and gun type. PU foam has high reactivity and is commonly used for installation, joint filling, bonding, leak sealing, insulation, sound insulation, and waterproofing of doors and windows. It is an environmentally friendly, energy-saving, and easy-to-use building material. The quality of PU foam product can be judged by the following methods:

1. If gun type PU foam is used, the gun effect can be seen. When foam is applied, the sprayed foam is expected to be smooth, not too thin or too thick. If it is too thin, the foam will not be large, and the bubbles will collapse. If it is too thick, the foam will dry and the foam will shrink easily.

2. Spray PU foam on the newspaper to form a layer of foam material, and check whether the two ends of this layer of foam material are tilted the next day. If it rises, it indicates that the foam shrinks. The higher the rise, the more severe the shrinkage. If both ends are not tilted, it indicates that foam is good.

3. Cut the foam to see the internal structure of the bubbles. If the bubbles are uniform and dense, it indicates that they are good foam; If the pores are large and the density is poor, it is considered a defective product.

4. Observe the oil leakage of PU foam. For good foam, the foam is no oil leakage.

5. Press the foam with your finger. If the foam is elastic and with good hardness, it is a good foam.

6. Observe the adhesion of PU foam to the substrate. A good foam has strong adhesion to various substrates, while the bad one has bad adhesion.
