PU Foam is a product with both adhesive and expanding properties. It is often used to fill the side seams and holes of doors and windows to achieve sealing and bonding effects. Because PU foam sealant is a kind of material that can foam after moisture absorption, it is usually packed in sealed cans, generally divided into gun type and straw type. So what is the difference between the two?
1、 The configuration of gun type and straw type pu foam sealant is different
Gun type foam sealant is usually purchased as a wholesale product for enterprise users. It can only be used together with the foam gun. The foam gun is cleaned with cleaning agent and can be recycled. Straw type PU foam sealant is generally used by retail, family and DIY small customers, and can only be used with disposable hose.
2、 The pressure of gun type and straw type PU foam sealant is also different
Straw type PU foam caulking agent is less metered, of ordinary quality and low pressure, and is mainly used for household leak stoppage and door and window caulking. Gun type foam sealant has high pressure and good quality. It is mainly used in industrial manufacturing, especially precision manufacturing of engineering construction, automobile and electronic products. Straw type PU foam sealant is easy to hold the valve during use, but this will not happen if gun pressure is high.
3、 The application fields of gun type and straw type of PU foam sealant are different
Due to the different application fields of gun type and straw type PU foam, the quality will also be different. In particular, gun type PU foam has sound insulation, flame retardant and thermal insulation effects on the basis of bonding and sealing. Most straw type PU foam joint sealants have only basic filling effect. Although the packaging specifications and performance are different, most products produced by large enterprises are environmentally friendly and will not release harmful substances to the human body after curing.
